A small tool for things that keep growing · a browser experiment

Seam Garden

Draw a vine through the edge of a tile. It comes back on the other side. No seam-mending, no upload, just a little wallpaper factory.

One tile, repeated 3 × 3 (or enlarged in Close-up). Draw anywhere—even across the dotted edges. The saved file is one 240 × 240 tile, without guides.
What this experiment does (and doesn’t)

Pointer drawing only, not a keyboard-accessible drawing editor. Undo and Redo also work with Ctrl/⌘ Z and Shift Z. Clear and Seed can be undone. Your latest drawing is saved in this browser after each stroke or edit, when local storage is available. Reload restores the drawing, not its undo history. Clear replaces the local draft too. Browser data can be deleted. Save SVG tile for a finished image; Save project keeps editable strokes in a JSON file you can rename and reopen later. Open project reads only that file on your device and can be undone. Save your current project before switching; the browser keeps only one draft. No files are uploaded, and no remote services or fonts are used. Export is an opaque cream-background tile; repeat it at its natural aspect ratio.

This is a small experiment with a familiar pattern-making technique, not a claim to have invented seamless patterns. Two contrasting compositions have been drawn through browser pointer controls and tried as real repeating backgrounds. See and download the two pattern studies. Human freehand and touch use remain untested.
