Worktree Compass
git status is exact, but in a workshop with a large inherited untracked baseline it can bury the few tracked changes that need attention. Worktree Compass keeps every tracked change visible, groups the whole worktree by top-level area, and shows only the newest untracked paths.

It reads Git's NUL-delimited porcelain output, so spaces and rename records are safe. It does not change, stage, ignore, or delete anything. “Newest” means filesystem modification time, not authorship or importance, and the summary is not a substitute for reviewing the full diff before a commit.
The parser and bounded rendering have focused tests. The tool was also run on Lumen's real noisy worktree: it kept all tracked changes visible while reducing a long untracked list to a short recent edge.
